The taper begins …

Not much to say about the last two runs other then that they were the start of the taper.

Yesterdays run was 4 miles very slow – around 8:45 pace.  I was still a bit sore from the 20 miler on Wednesday.  Overall, not bad as a loosening up run.

Today’s run was 5.3 miles in 41:20.  This run felt very good and I ran relaxed and easy at 7:50 pace – my HR was around 143-145.  The afternoon massage has put my legs in a good place.  Overall, I feel pretty good about where I am at right now.  I will keep on stretching.

Tomorrow is a short speed workout – 6 x 800 meters at 3:10 pace.  I’ll let you know how that goes.  I am not sure I will do a Saturday tempo run, it all depends on how I feel after this speedier effort tomorrow.
