Incommunicado …

My computer went on the fritz Sunday and had to go back to Apple for repair; I am glad I had applecare or a new computer was in the works.  Wait, maybe I should be unhappy – an excuse for a new computer would be nice.  Hmm.

Anyway, no chance to write this weekend.  I did post Saturday but nothing on Sunday.  Sunday was a long run that felt easy and good.   The pace was around 8:10 pace and then at about 11 I picked it up to 7:30, 7:13, 7:12.  Those felt pretty easy and then I relaxed in.  Overall a very easy and enjoyable run.  I felt a bit of a twinge in my calf so I am glad Monday is a rest day.

On Monday I start the 18 week, 70 miles per week or less Pfitzinger schedule.  It is a good thing that Monday is a rest day  on the schedule.  I will post something more detailed about the week ahead, but here is a brief glimpse (for all 0 of you who are reading!).  My goal marathon pace is 7:10 so 10-20% more for long and medium runs would be 7:50-8:25.

Monday – rest

Tuesday – 8 miles general aerobic (which I am going to define as 7:30-8:15 pace)

Wednesday –  Medium long run 11 miles (7:50-8:10)

Thursday – 5 mile recover (8:30-9:00)

Friday – 9 miles general aerobic (7:30-8:15)

Saturday – 5 mile recovery (8:30-9:00)

Sunday – 15 miles (8:00-8:25)

That should be a decent start.  Here goes.
